Enchong Dee is Ernest Lorenzo Velasquez Dee in real life. He was born in Naga City on November 5, 1988. Enchong graduated his high school from Naga hope Christian School. Before he entered show business, Enchong Dee entered college at De La Salle University in Manila. There, he was a high caliber swimmer and became part of the Philippine national swimming team and he participated in the South East Asian Games and 2006 Asian Games. Due to his involvement in the national swimming team and his celebrity looks, he was invited to a showbiz talk show Home Boy as one of the guests. That was his first TV appearance. During the show, Enchong Dee was noticed by some people in the modelling and advertising industry. He was then signed to endorse some brands like Timex, Bench and KFC, to name just few. His appearances in various commercials paved the way for Enchong to enter showbiz. He was signed by ABS-CBN's talent umbrella Star Magic as their latest addition to their pool of talents. He was then given the role of Blue Mangubat in "Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv". It was followed by "Palimos Ng Pag-Ibig" in Sineserye Presents as Job and as mark in "Pedro Penduko at ang mga Engkanto" in Komiks Presents. Those TV appearances are all done in 2006. In 2007, he appeared again in various Tv shows such as "Tulak ng Bibig" in "Your Song Presents" as Marlon, "Mars Ravelo's Lastikman" as Raffy Gipit, then a reprise of his role as Blue mangubat in "Abt Ur Luv: Ur Lyf 2", "Astigs in Haay... Skul Lyf" as Ipe and "Astigs In Luvin' Lyf" for "Star Magic Presents". In the following year, Enchong Dee appeared in "My Girl" as Nico Legaspi, opposite Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu. He also stated appearing in youth oriented show ASAP as host and performe of the show. Then he was also casted in "My Only Hope" as Jun Dimmano for "Your Song Presents" and as Brian Lozano in "Komiks Presents" Nasaan Ka Mauja?". 2009 was a very fruitful year for Enchong Dee. He started the year with the role as Arnel in "Boystown" for "Your Song Presents:" and a guest appearance as David Anthony Garcia III in "Tayong Dalawa". Then his biggest break came. He was casted in "Katorse" opposite Erich Gonzales and Ejay Falcon. Enchong was said to be just an additional cast but his character earned a lot of fan's sympathy he won the love of Erich at the end. He became Jojo to casual fans and he became a household name to the Filipino audiences. After his break in "Katorse", he then get morer serious roles in "Love Me, Love You" as Water Boy. Then he potrayed the role of Efren Pe�aflorida in "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode "Kariton". Enchong was then included in the powerhouse cast of "Tanging yaman" as the second son Jomari Buenavista. Then he get a supporting role in "Magkaribal" top billed by Bea Alonzo and Gretchen Barretto. In 2010, he appeared in various ABS-CBN shows such as "Your Song Presents: Andi", "Wansapanataym: Ali badbad en da Madyik Banig", "Maalaala Mo Kaya: Parol" and "Your Song Presents: Kim. In 2011, Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales> again paired for "Maria la del Barrio" which is a local adaptation of a Mexican telenovela of the same title. The said show is part of the Kapamilya netwok's Primetime Bida offering. The pair played the lead role of the said soap opera. Enchong also played the lead role in "Agimat: Ang mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Presents: Boy Putik".
